CARRIER
ANNOUNCES NEW BENCHMARK IN VARIABLE REFRIGERANT SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY
World's Most Intelligent Variable Refrigerant
System

JAKARTA, August 26 - Adding
to a 100-year legacy of innovation pioneered by Dr. Willis
H. Carrier, its founder and the inventor of scientific air
conditioning, Carrier Corporation announced a new technology
today that will set a new benchmark for variable refrigerant
system.
Following five years of research and development, including
hands-on technical input from the Toyo Carrier design team,
PT Sarana Aircon Utama , Carrier main distributor for Indonesia
region will begin selling the new IVRS this month.
At today's launch event, here, Mr. Steven S. Tanoto, director
of PT. Sarana Aircon Utama, said, "This new IVRS innovation
will create industry-leading features that not only enhance
the system design but also th e installation flexibility.
Older generation Variable Refrigerant Systems have a 15 meters
height restriction between the upper and lower most indoor
unit, but with the unique Carrier IVRS can have one system
handling a height difference up to 30 metres."
The IVRS technology represents another industry first, according
to Mr. Tjahjadi Djaja, sales manager. "It's the first
time that pressure and heat sensor controls, inverter technology,
and three stage oil balancing variable has been integrated
into a refrigerant system and controls design as a standard
product. The result is the optimization of efficiency across
the entire operating range, increased reliability, as well
as reduced system complexity and cost."
Once commercialized, the new IVRS technology will produce
units that deliver the following customer benefits:
 |
Five outdoor units can be connected into a single refrigerant
circuit. Total capacity of 46 HP with variable speed inverter
control can be acheived, resulting in better utilization
of outdoor space.
|
 |
Modular outdoor units are compact enough to be carried
in an ordinary elevator and outdoor units can be coupled
together to minimize installation space. These capabilities
are ideal for refurbishing works.
|
 |
The IVRS can have one system handing a height difference
up to 30 metres. All floors in an eight-story building
can be air-conditioned with a single circuit. This features
reduces piping works, piping space and installation
time.
|
 |
The four-sided heat exchanger, two in one compressor
pack and smart sensor controls allow the IVRS to achieve
a superior efficiency that is among the best in the
market.
|
Working with the United Technologies Research Center (UTRC)
and its strategic partners, Carrier started development of the
IVRS technology five years ago, with the goal of bringing exceptional
performance at an affordable price to its commercial customers.
"We are confident that IVRS technology units will set
the standard for innovation and large commercial customer
value for many years to come," Steven S Tanoto added.
The units produced with the IVRS technology will be the latest
product addition to Carrier's "E 3 Solutions" HVAC
systems. The E 3 Solutions are those systems that provide
significant improvement in energy efficiency, environmental
impact and economy, or customer value. To assist customers
in making progress on global warming, ozone depletion and
return on investment, Carrier is providing leadership on all
product fronts, from small commercial rooftop air conditioners
to vertical package units and water source heat pumps to the
largest centrifugal chillers.
Celebrating 100 years of innovation and the invention of modern
air conditioning by its founder, Willis Haviland Carrier, Carrier
Corporation is the world's largest manufacturer of heating,
air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment. It
is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX),
provider of a broad range of high-technology products and support
services to the aerospace and building systems industries. |
